Use ethanol-free gas
Wonder why your fuel economy drops during the winter? Ethanol! Ethanol has a lower energy density than gasoline (10% loss for E10, 30% loss for E85) and it has been shown to deteriorate your engine over time. Avoid high ethanol blends whenever possible, and check Google Maps to see if there are any ethanol-free gas stations near you.
