Tank of 98 and a Canberra to Sydney loop. Yokohama Bluearth tyres handle very well and are silent!

New Yokohama Bluearth tyres seem to have had an immediate effect improving economy. Sydney trip with a scenic, mountainous return. Despite the cold and wet.

Last tank was 98 RON. I'd also pumped up the tyres. I wonder if the octane helps on a mountainous freeway run. This time I'll try 91 RON for city driving.

Longest and most efficient tank (by 0.006LHK) so far. Not 1126km (700 miles) as I had hoped. During this tank I had a 90,000km service, a flat battery, several days of another driver (who thinks P&G make shampoo) and used A/C quite a lot. So a 1126km tank is in there somewhere.

Canberra to Sydney. Filled up on the way North. Could have driven much further and saved a few cents in Sydney, but safer to have a full tank. Filled with Shell 91 RON

Canberra to Sydney and then Newcastle. Was in a bit of a hurry, so while I stuck to the speed limits, I was charging up hills. Used full lower grill block. Driving was in the cool of night and morning - 10-20°c. Much warmer and the full grill block could have been too much. Filled with BP 91 RON at Pymble.

First 1000km (and 600 mile) tank! Almost certainly improved by warmer weather. Tank of Shell 94 RON E10, so even if there was a slight penalty from the ethanol it wasn't obvious. This did include several drives by my wife, who is no eco-driver by any stretch of the imagination.

Caltex Vortex 95. Right rear tyre has a puncture and a slow leak. Will be buying 2 new Bridgestone ecopia tyres for the front since the Ovation Eco Vision VI-682 are woeful. Just read http://www.choice.com.au/reviews-and-tests/transport/cars/tyres/car-tyres-215-60r16-95v-95h-review-and-compare.aspx
