Drove mixed for the first 125 then all highway to Kittery ME and back, filling up on Mass Pike. AC on for the last 200 miles. 90 degrees.

Speed limit and cruise control. HUD showed average 40 to 41 for the whole tank, but must be off. Also no AC until the last 80 miles or so.

Something strange going on. Filled up on the way back from Albany. Car said 44 mpg average. Maybe going downhill? Car average dropped slowly down to 42 for first half tank. Last quarter of the tank mileage dropped rapidly down to 39. No change at all in driving habits. Have to experiment by filling up next time with just half tank.

Swapped the summer tires on halfway through this tank. On the snows the average mpg was 35.5. With the summer tires on (stock ones) it jumped up to 38 average immediately. Temperature is now in the 50s also.
