Both rear parking brake cable guides had come loose (detached from shoe). LH brake only destroyed cable guide. RH brake destroyed cable guide and lost both shoe hold-down springs. Also, tack welds on RH wheel studs did not work at all, predictably. Replace cable guides and reassemble brakes; hammer tabs of cable guides into brake shoes to retain them.

Replace front rotors - Motorcraft Clean, inspect, and repack front wheel bearings. Some wear on front of spindles but not too bad. Torque to spec. Replace front right caliper - NAPA reman Strip, paint, rebuild front left caliper Replace FR andFL brake hoses TODO total cost

Touch up rust spots on driver side cab and bed. Rustoleum rusty metal primer and gloss enamel topcoat. Ugly but whatever. Keeps shit from falling off.

Shift tube sheared in god damned half while I had the thing parked across Wyandotte, obviously. Replaced with a shift tube off a Bronco from the pick-n-pull. Original failure looks to have been caused by off-axis forces resulting from two Torx screws connecting shift tube to linkage arm backing off - Loctite all screws thoroughly (read: excessively) this time around.

Hack together an alignment to correct undesirable steering instability after tire swap. Install 2x Moog adjustable caster/camber bushings ±2.75deg, max them out on both. Camber isn’t quite right still but better. Steering feels more stable, no excessive steering effort.

Seemed like it lost a little power in the mountains. Trans dipstick completely dry. Engine oil dipstick below 1qt line. Two fittings on drivers side of rad (atf coolant lines) leaking pretty good. Tighten fittings. Bottom one still leaks but much slower. Add 2.5qt ATF (off brand Mercon III), dipstick looks OK. Add 1qt 10W-30 (off brand), dipstick looks OK.
