Oct 16 2011

Final entry. This bike was written off on 17th October 2011 due to a driver who wasnt looking out for other traffic and who turned broadside across the path of the bike. This bike was a good,if risky way to save fuel.

Ambient on return commute is getting warmer and so further fuel consumption improvements expected. Morning ambient is cooler than summer time and so am not expecting to improve on around 81 mpg. We'll see.

Cooler ambient temp plus winds and some rain and fuel consumption is lower. Fuelled up having covered a shorter distance than usual just to confirm suspicions about the ambient affecting temperature.

some more runs with no particular regard to fuel consumption. These seem to indicate that the windscreen, although quite big, is providing better aerodynamics than without.

Fitted windscreen when tank half full. will monitor to see if fuel consumption goes down due to better aerodynamics or up due to worse aerodynamics.

This includes a 38 mile run with absolutely no regard for fuel consumption whatsoever! By my rough calculations this means that during that 38 mile run I averaged just over 70 mpg.
