Probie was involved in an accident. A work truck was parked on the sidewalk and was trying to cross the street. I was waiting in the right hand turn lane slowing because a vehicle was completing their left turn from the other direction. The truck decided to cross the street and struck my passenger rear fender. He proceeded to drive up and over the rear passenger fender. He ended up crossing the street and parking on the sidewalk 100ft or so down. He was part of the North Georgia Electric Company from Canton that was working on the intersection by my house. (Atkinson and Herrington). Probie was towed by statwide towing, a wrecker service in Norcross. The other driver was given a citation. 10/28 I contacted a lawyer and received the police report. On 10/29 I finally heard from his insurance, Travelers, and was advised they needed to contact the driver to assume liability. I was not offered a rental and was told I could get one on my own and once they assumed liability they could reimburse/offer a rental. On 11/3 I was called by another agent and advised that it was clear the other driver was at fault. They would send someone out to look at the car. On 11/6 I spoke with the inspector and he advised that the vehicle was a total loss. He advised if I had records of repairs or anything that could increase value. I could send it in On 11/7 Went to yard and had Probie brought home. Paid tow/storage fees. Advised insurance to pay that bill as well ($350ish) As of 12/19 still no resolution. Insurance is refusing to pay “loss of use/rental”. I never did get a rental but asking them to pay out for what I should have been given. (Was told by inspector and another agent that they could pay out what rental I should have been given). Currently only asking 15 days. 10 days that I was without my car & 5 days the inspector advised is given once a vehicle is totaled. Asking $30 per day which is comparable cost for rental that is Probie’s size. We’ll see...
