I am 2 years in on the "new" WRX and this will be my last entry. I hope some of you have appreciated my input. This last fill-up included a 3 gallon splash so I didn't run out of gas before I could get to the cheaper Costco gas. This was one 300 mile drive westbound on I-80 in PA at 68-73 mph and then 160 or so miles local back and forth to work. Some very cold temps in the morning hurt gas mileage. 31.2 mpg on computer vs 28.4 actual. Cheers!

Fill up after all highway drive eastbound on I-80 in Pennsylvania 65-72 mph. Temps started at 35 deg and rose to 45 deg F by the end of the drive. 34.8 mpg on computer vs 32.0 actual.

Very cold weather for much of this tank. 28.8 mpg on computer vs 25.7 actual. Put on Vredestein Wintrac Pro snow tires at beginning of tank.

Normal driving...31.8 mpg on computer vs 29.4 actual. Average for car to date is computer being 9.5% high...I check every tank. Summer tires still on...will change to snow tires in next week or so....

Normal back and forth to work driving with cooler morning temps. 33.0 mpg on computer vs 30.6 actual. Averaging 9.6% high on computer for the life of the car so far....just went over 18,000 miles.

301 miles at 68-72 mph westbound I-80 through PA. ....3 traffic jams....Rrrrrrr (I shut the car off when sitting still). Temps were 75-85, no A/C. Did 27 miles city driving after I got back prior to filling up. Guestimating 28 mph city, so 35.8 mph on the trip which is way higher than I expected. I was doing my usual speeding up down hill and slowing down up hill hypermiling thing, so that helped, obviously. 38.1 mpg on the computer vs 34.8 actual.....

80 miles local, then 290 miles highway eastbound I-80 across PA. Started slow in the dark, then 65-70 mph...temps 75 deg. 38.4 mpg actual vs 42.3 computer.

All highway return trip westbound across I-80 in PA at 55-58 mph. Temps started at 65 and finished around 75, so still good for higher MPG. This was 93 octane gas....I am alternating the mix between 87 and 93 octane...I don't have mid grade available at my Costco (where I usually get my gas).

87 octane after trip eastbound on I-80 across PA. Drove 55-58 mph (I wasn't in any rush) and temps were 68-72 deg...perfect for good mileage. Highest ever MPG. Computer was closer than usual...45.9 mpg on computer vs 43.4 actual. These are legitimate numbers.....I was very surprised!

87 octane (alternating with 93 to keep cost down a little). Some air conditioning this tank due to higher temperatures. Computer mpg was 14% high!! (average since I got the car is 9.91% high).
