Nov 14 2012

Had a partial fill-up at a new gas station. The pump was slow, and failed to print a reciept. Annoying!!

Oct 5 2012

Changed the oil from Cstrol GTX high mileage to Pennzoil high mileage. Filled up with 87 octane. Motor noise isn't causing hesitation like it used to, but is not gone. Piston slap is here to stay until I swap the motor, or the car.

Ran 87 octane. Still have an odd pinging with hesitation when cold at low to mid-throttle settings while accelerating. Runs like a champ at higher throttle settings or once very warm (oil temp, not coolant).

Cleaned the IAC valve. Filled up at Shell with 87 octane to isolate noise when engine is cold.

half-tank fill-up with 91 octane. Should give a mix of 89 octane. I had noted pinging and hesitation during this past tank.

Jul 8 2012

Alternator died. Replaced knock sensor. Lots of relearning, and car picked up an off-idle stutter when accelerating. Switched back to 87 octane with this fill up. Will continue to monitor.
