Brought in to the dealer to inspect oil burning smell again. Technician found right cylinder head leaking oil at rear portion of the cylinder head. Technician replaced right cylinder head, gaskets, seals, fluids, free of charge since they were not able to correctly diagnose and fix the issue on previous visits. I asked them to replace the clutch since everything was apart, which saved me about $600 on a $1600 service. Oil and filter was changed. A wheel stud was replaced since it had to be broken off while tire service was being done previously. It was probably cross-threaded by techs at the dealer during a previous service so I'm glad this was done free of charge as well (normal cost would be $200-300). Total cost for this visit only included the clutch replacement, about $1100. Note that this service took from 7/31 to 8/24, mostly to diagnose the oil burning smell plus the technician was on vacation during a portion of the time. A couple days later I went on a drive into the mountains and heard some awful noises from the engine bay when I turned the wheel—got home and found that the power steering fluid was way low. Went back to the dealer and they said they had noticed a leak in the power steering rack but just topped off the fluid.
