I had been getting an occasional CEL P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire) since early November, but it always disappeared and never affected driveability... until the South Dakota road trip. Lesson learned, don't ignore what your car is trying to tell you! After limping home with the light on, I had Matt (tech I know at Wilde Subaru) swap the ignition coils on cylinders #4 and #2, which ruled the coil out, and then replace all 4 spark plugs, which took care of the problem. He also did a fuel injection service, cleaned and lubed the front and rear brakes, and did a brake fluid flush. Since RockAuto sent the wrong sized rotors, the new rotors and pads will be installed at a later date. Car still needs both valve cover gaskets replaced (oil leaking from top of both valve covers) and the power steering pump replaced because it is leaking. Will do those the next free weekend Matt has.
