haha...definitely didn't worry about gas mileage on this tank :) filled up at the shell station near church; i think i'm going to start staying away from ro-rap gas in the future, i burn through it too quickly.

ro-rap fillup at wal-mart (with 10-15% e85 gas), typically was carrying 1-2 passengers vs. only having me in it

i went to and from camp, to and from scotland neck, i-95/i-85, but also did more in town driving. got brand new tires a few weeks ago, so that should help my mileage, too; shell gas

i've found the "sweet spot" for the mileage, just north of 2.5 (where i thought it was before), and this is with bad tires and a bad wheel bearing. virtually all highway miles, carrying stuff in the trunk for several of those trips; this car is basically paying for itself in gas, my previous car was averaging 24 mpg; it seems like i get better mileage out of citgo or wilco hess gas...weird

stupid gas went up again! keeping this in mind, i tried to keep the tach locked at 2.5, that seems to be my car's sweet spot

Apr 18 2011

ended up getting $15 at bp near camp, then filled at college station by school - best mileage for sonja is when i keep the tach at 2.5 in 4th (on interstate) and that puts me anywhere from 65-70, depending on hills, which is perfect

same dealio for this tank: mostly highway, trips back and forth to school, i do know this will be less mileage, though because i pushed it pretty hard on the first quarter tank because i was late for class

despite the bad tires, this tank was awesome! ive discovered that keeping the speedo just above 65 or right at it saves alot - other tanks were mostly 70ish, and thats the only difference in my driving

gas hikes yet again, this time by 10c overnight. still plenty of highway miles on this tank, but didn't watch it as closely this time, joked around with a guy at stoplights, etc...funny though, last tank was my best tank yet for mpg, and that's with a passenger and his wheelchair in the car!

tried to hyper-mile a little bit this tank, kept the speedo at 70 for most of my trips, very gentle starts and stops...im trying to get to 30 mpg :) also made sure correct pressure in all 4 tires, used the 50/50 rule for windows/AC
