Kroger Plus ($-0.03) discount applied. Purposely spent more tome on freeways to see if fuel economy would be positively effected; does not appear to have been the case.

First fuel-up in dour weeks; car was in an accident the night of 12FEB and was only picked up from the dealer the morning of 06MAR. Scheduled maintenance was also performed during that time. Kroger discount of ($-0.10) applied to this refueling.

More highway driving than I prefer...needed to keep Savannah while her mom was out of town on business; had to pick her up in Dekalb, drive her back home in Lawrenceville, then drive her back home to catch the bus before going to work. This was done for three days. Maybe could have stretched it a bit more, was not happening driving Troy to his daycare this morning.

Jan 20 2013

Had extra time with Savannah while her mother was out of town; needed more highway trips to get her home in time to catch the bus to school in the mornings. Had to re-fuel a bit sooner than I would have preferred as time constraints required highway driving with what would have been fumes to run on.

Unbelievable. Not really sure what to say about this result. Cold weather affecting air intake? Overfilling on the last refueling skewed the numbers? Textbook definition of a "spike".

Dec 27 2012

Took interstate home from work each afternoon to see if fuel economy would improve. Drove to Hartsfield-Jackson Intl Airport on 21DEC2012, parked her until evening of 26DEC2012. Ran out of gas the morning of 27DEC2012; completed fill-up during lunch. Numbers are not as exact as I would like, but preliminary evidence suggests this car actually realizes much better fuel economy driving in city conditions.

Took the highway back to Gwinnett County after picking Savannah up Friday night...worst stop-and-go traffic in ages on Lenox Road on the way to her house. Took Troy to his daycare once, took the dog to the vet Saturday morning (was running late, needed to cane it the whole way), then went back home to pick up Savannah for a few hours visiting with her grandma in Norcross.

First full tank of gas after routine maintenance/service performed by dealer two Saturdays ago; limited driving on Thanksgiving Day was offset by additional driving to pick up Savannah and take her back home to her mom the weekend following, although I have found a route to do that which avoids the highways completely. Kroger Plus card artificially deflated gas price by $0.03.

Nov 19 2012

Had oil change the previous Saturday. Somehow ended up getting caught short...started sputtering on the drive home from work a day earlier than expected. Had to buy gas at a Citgo station. Never. Again. Numbers are awful, have no explanation as to why.

No trips to drop Troy off to or pick him up from his daycare since the wife has been home since Saturday; picking Savannah up and dropping her off from/to her house done without any highway travel. No help with fuel price as the Kroger Plus card is not taken at Chevron stations.

Third full week of being the exclusive transport to and from daycare for Troy; picked up Savannah from the house of her friend, marginally closer than the house in which she lives with her mom. Ran out of milk Sunday morning, otherwise would not have driven to refuel prior to the drive to work on Monday. Gas price artificially lowered by $0.10, again thanks to use of Kroger Plus card.

Cube Of Blue continues to be exclusive source of transport for Troy to and from his daycare as wife remains out of the country on business. No driving on 21OCT...twice the normal driving on 16OCT, taking Troy to daycare, driving home, back in the afternoon due to illness. No highway driving. Gas price artificially lowered by $0.10 due to applied discount; thank you, Kroger Plus card.

Drove to Chateau Elan in Winder and back via I-85 to drop Savannah off with her mother; loaned the Cube of Blue to a buddy of mine during lunch; he may have caned it a bit. First full week of taking Troy to and from daycare...mornings are cool enough to leave air conditioning off; afternoons, not so much.

Oct 7 2012

Drove wife to the airport on 04OCT2012, will be the fulltime ride for Troy to and from his daycare for the rest of the month. Air conditioning used more this past week than any time I can remember...the numbers seem to be affected accordingly. 35 mpg does not look as attainable as I had hoped at this point. At least gas prices seem to be dropping a bit.

Took Troy to and picked him up from his daycare twice; ran some errands during lunchtime from work, picked up Chinese dinner on the way home 28SEP, gave the car the next two days off. Fuel tank range seems comfortably established at 480 miles.

Ran w/ AC on for 3 days driving Troy to and from his daycare on 13-14SEP and running errands on 15SEP w/ wife and son on board. Official fuel tank capacity for this car is 13.2 gallons...if it ever gets emptier than this there WILL be a hike involved.

Complete clusterfark of a day involved my wife driving the car because hers would not start; fuel light was already on and it did not occur to me to give her my ATM card to refill the car completely, so she was only able to add what she had cash for.
