John's Firestone: - state inspection (passed) - rotate tires - alignment (they said we desperately needed this) Either rotating the tires or the alignment (or both?) fixed the steering wheel wobble around 45 mph.

Oil change at Firestone - Kendall GT-1 5W/30 HP synthetic blend - also replaced oil drain plug gasket and plug to try to finally resolve slow drip after shutting off engine. Firestone also found "slight seepage at valve cover gasket" but said it wasn't anything major yet. It would cost roughly $150 to fix. -- Edit: Jeep still drips oil after shutting off. May be rear main seal according to internet.

The Jeep wouldn't start yesterday when I tried to come home from work. It had worked fine just 3 hours earlier. I got one click out of it on the first attempt and then nothing after that. Voltage was around 12v. We tried to jump start it, but all it did was click. We eventually push-started it and I drove it straight to Firestone to sit for the night. This morning they replaced the battery and it started up immediately. The charging system tested OK. The new battery is a Super Start Premium (34-72) from O'Reilly. Old battery was a Wal-Mart Everstart whose warranty expired a couple days ago. The battery terminals were extremely corroded.

Check engine light came on after starting the Jeep when it had been parked at the airport during the B7 groundbreaking ceremony. I later pulled a code using the odometer: 0457. Jeep had no driveability issues and showed no other symptoms at all. We cleared the code and will watch to see if it happens again.

Firestone replaced the oil drain plug and also the cap on the valve cover. It was cracked and not really attached. The also inspected the rest of the car and found nothing else wrong. The battery cables are somewhat corroded.

We discovered a small leak from the oil pan a few days ago. Firestone checked it out today and suspects that the drain plug is worn and needs to be replaced. We will schedule an appointment for next week to get that done.
