Got my RSX rims finally, now running on 205/60/16 Bridgestone Ecopia EP422s. All tire height inaccuracies were adjusted for. All future fillups will have a 0.78% increase in mileage. Drove to work a few times, as well as other non highway commute trips, plus some romping to test out the new wheels. Avg speed 39 mph. Fuel light at 519.4.

Another new record tank! Increase was mainly the result of exclusively taking motorcycles to work instead of car. Also trying to do more pulse and glide when traffic allows. Avg speed 39 mph.

HOL-E-CRAP! I broke my 40 mpg tank goal! The scangauge thought I got 37.2 or something. Fuel light DID NOT come on, avg speed of 35 mph. This tank was a good deal of my long highway commute plus shorter work commute. Still using the block heater when I can. Better planning departure times and using motorcycle for work commute.

Jan 13 2017

Lots of shorter commute, cold weather. Long commute begins again, I realized I haven't been getting super close to my record trips due to me using less of a pulse and glide driving style. I adjusted scangauge inaccurately for this trip, so acknowledge error percentage for "record" trips. Forgot to get avg speed and fuel light mileage. Filled at slow rate for much longer than usual, so may have filled tank more than usual. Taught one more person to drive stick this tank, that makes ten!

Filled up at different station, cold weather, short trips, few long trips, HORRENDOUS traffic. Worst I have ever seen in my life. Along with traffic comes angry driving...This is the end of my highway commute for now, just mostly short trips from here on. Fuel light at 425.7. Avg speed 30 mph.

Much less of my highway commute (45 miles), much more of my work commute (6 miles), its getting damn cold, tire pressures got a little low. I did bypass my power steering pump this tank. Filled with regular, maybe i'll get better gas mileage next tank, my car doesn't seem to react to premium. Filled at a different gas station, will become my new regular station. Forgot to get avg speed. Fuel light at 403.3

Nov 6 2016

Includes shorter commutes, like commuting to work. A little inefficient driving to test out my newly installed intake bellmouth. It was a dissapointment. Weather is getting colder, low 50s in the morning. I am starting to bump start more, and avoid shorter trips that I can walk for. I am also watching my acceleration more closely, and accelerating more efficiently plus coasting more at low speeds. Filled next tank with premium since station was out of everything else, we'll see if the gas mileage increases :). Average speed of 32 mph. Fuel light at 436.2 miles.

New record tank! Almost all my highway commute, some traffic here and there. I actually romped on the car a bit towards the end of the tank, I really wasn't expecting this high mpg! Scangauge was 4% Pessimistic! The improvement probably came from me taking the bus to the other campus, instead of driving. I forgot to get avg speed, so highway/city is a guess. Fuel light did not come on.

I added 6.02 gallons during this tank, so I could make it to the dragstrip and not be burdened with a full tank. Didn't end up running. Some shorter trips and city driving this tank, some driving other people around(AC). I also took the grill block off because its about 85 degrees, and the fan keeps running. If it cools down to below 75, i'll put it back on. I had a record best trip with the grill block off, 42.1(All-time record is 43.6). I used two different gas pumps, so there may be a little fillup error. 34 MPH avg speed

Still avoiding short trips and driving to appease the insurance gods. It has been so long since I last filled up that I accidentally opened the trunk instead of the fuel cap. Tires now set at 48 PSI front, 44 rear. Intake manifold spacer from 2003 Honda Odyssey installed at end of this tank. Fuel light turned on at 442 miles.

Apr 27 2016

For the next three months, I will have the insurance OBD-2 port thingy, Automatic. I am aiming for the full 30% discount, which shouldn't be too hard since i'm already a hypermiler and am completely fine with driving slow. However, Automatic is making me change my driving style, I now accelerate slower and brake much slower. I used to shift at 2700 rpm when no one is in front of me, now its more like 2000 rpm. I also wont brake hard for fresh red lights anymore (momentum conservation). Since Automatic takes up the OBD-2 port, I won't be able to look at my scangauge anymore, so I can't drive with load as effectively anymore. And also, I end up waiting at red lights a lot longer looking for a big clearing so I don't get dinged for "hard acceleration". However, it will help me get better gas mileage due to me avoiding pretty much all driving except for my commute.

Mar 31 2016

I made a point to avoid short trips as much as possible, this tank is basically only highway, with a few short trips. Scangauge tricked me into thinking I was going to get 37 mpg. It was 4% optimistic. I think there may have been a fillup discrepancy, but if there was I would have thought it would be more like 4% pessimistic. ;( Oh well, new best tank! Fuel light turned on at 483 miles! Forgot to check avg speed.
